  Brought 2 silver troy pound ( ~13 troy ozs each) silver eagle rounds to sell. Also brought receipt of original purchase from numismatic dealer. Was told he would offer $4/oz under spot. Politely told him I would pass on his offer (I considered it way too low but only said I would pass!!). I asked what his rates were for govt silver eagle 1 oz coins to better gauge his rates, he said he buys at spot (again low). As I was leaving he loudly asked me if I expected him to only make $4 on 100 oz silver bar (??). I responded that at $4 under spot he would make $400 to spot on such a purchase (and I imagine he would sell to another customer at some % over spot). He made his offer and I politely passed. When I passed I feel he became defensive bordering rude. Subsequently sold my rounds to APMEX at much better rate even after shipping costs.

  The owner who has been in this field for decades is one of the most honest if not the only honest person I have ever met..what I heard while I was waiting for my turn to talk to him was already very telling.. someone walked in telling him another coin shop offered him 'X' amount of money, the owner says 'no no no, your coin is worth 3 times that amount. ' That little story should say it all.. I will never ever go anywhere else.
